Anybody aware of a cheap hostel I can stay at that is near the train station in Beijing and also
Harbin? Also, anybody aware of the cost of a train ticket from Beijing to Harbin? And as a long
shot, from Harbin to Vladivostok, Russia? I'm flying into Beijing, spending a day, traveling to
Harbin, spending a day, then off to Russia.

Also, what do I need... just a double-entry Chinese visa?

This hostel is very near the station - not actually sure what it's like, but the location is what
you want. Train times and prices (click on the train number) here.

As for Russia, no idea.

I've stayed their several times, and for one night stopovers, it can't be beat. It's close to the
station, the metro, and the airport shuttlebus.
