and then there's all these stories about Chinese not being able to understand what you are saying
because their brain is tripping over the paradox...

i don't want to mess up your learning process,...

i don't want to mess up your learning process, whatever works for you is fine :o

pinyin isn't really hard
as per tones, well of course the traditional approach would be to practice and learn them....

It shouldn't matter as long as you are listening to native speakers... with the ALG Thai program
the students weren't supposed to go and try out their Thai with people on the street, the key is
not...

Yes I am also terrified of learning the traditional way - i would be asking a lot more questions
on these boards normally.
So far I'm just listening - listening the radio, finished watching a drama...

listening. Children never try to construct sentances with difficulty, and then not understand what
is spoken...
