Introduction:

This program consists of song and dance pieces taken from a number of famous classical stories. Among them are Rosy Clouds at Dawn, a portrayal of the life of immortals in heaven; the idyllic Greeting the Moon; Young Woman, Drifting Flowers, which takes place in the grand courtyard of the Red
Mansion of literary fame; and Love Versus Duty, adapted from the opera Farewell My Concubine. Also included are The Glorious Qin Battle Array, which depicts the terracotta warriors of the First Qin Emperor; Ta'ge, a traditional collective line dance performed by elegant women; the highly artistic
percussion dance piece Drumbeats Shake the Heavens; Swirling Brocade, with its gracefully fluttering handkerchiefs; and the many exciting songs of Poetry of the Ages. This excitingly contemporary production, with its spectacular staging and performance, offers the audience a fresh and lasting
impression.
